Product Description
Kinesio® Tex Tape Water Resistant, Color: Beige, 2" x 5.5 yd. Single Roll, Clinical, non-retail packaging. Kinesio Athletic Tape is a modality treatment based on the body's own natural healing process. The major effects of Kinesio taping are correcting muscle function, improving circulation of blood and lymph, relieving pain, and repositioning the subluxation joints. Kinesio Athletic Tape is latex free, and is durable for 3-4 days of use. Kinesio Athletic Tape is an elastic athletic tape of extremely high quality, and was specifically designed by Dr. Kenzo Kase to provide exceptional results for Kinesio Taping. Kinesio Athletic Tape was designed to be worn on the skin for an extended period of time (3-4 days) without irritation, as well as during strenuous exercise or hydrotherapy. The adhesive is not only heat activated, but also will not leave any residue when removed. Kinesio® Athletic Tape is FDA approved, and patent protected. Kinesio® Athletic Tape has an elasticity of 140%, which matches the same basic elasticity found in ones skin and muscles, allowing Kinesio taping to work with your body. This provides full range of motion, support, and stability, without adversely affecting the natural range of motion. For excellent results, Kinesio® Athletic Tape should be applied at least 30 minutes prior to exercise in order for the heat activated adhesive to adjust and bond with the skin temperature. In conjunction with the Kinesio Taping Method, Kinesio Athletic Tape is frequently used for clinical applications such as patella femoral, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff, etc. Kinesio Athletic Tape is more expensive than conventional athletic tape, but due to the quality and usage, Kinesio Athletic Tape is actually more economical Product photo may not exactly match the product offered for sale. 4 out of 5 stars Worked well, curls a little after a few days   August 31, 2010
runnin in mpls
I ordered this tape after running a marathon and having my back flare up after 18 miles. Someone I was running with said she had similar symptoms and this type of tape worked wonders for her.
I had a friend tape me up based on the picture on the Kinesio website. I thought it might straighten me up constantly, but it did not. Or at least it didn't feel like it.
The tape stayed on well for 3-4 days, even through workouts and showers. The horizontal strip of tape rolled up a bit on the bottom, but it was just a small area.
I've used it for several long training runs and have not experienced the same pain that I did in the marathon. So I guess it's working!

5 out of 5 stars Great stuff, it stays on even when playing sports.   August 28, 2010

I have a condition in my hand that gives me localized pain, its a form arthritis. I've found the patch type product Salonpas Salonpas-Pain Relieving Patch, 120 Patches does an excellent job of relief. However it won't stay on after your hands get a little sweaty. I first tried athletic tape and that works ok...but what I didn't like was that 1) its too stiff 2) it only comes in white. I like to camoflage the bandage.

Anyway this stuff does the trick. The beige color kind of blends in with your skin, and this stuff doesn't fall off when you are sweaty. It doesn't fall off until you take it off. It is great. I will be a lifelong customer.

5 out of 5 stars Great for arthritic joints, too!   August 23, 2010

5 out of 5 stars You need to know what you are doing...   August 20, 2010

I am a CKTP...or Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. I am also a sports med. doctor and treat amateur and professional athletes. I can attest to the fact that you need a good knowledge of kinesiology and biomechanics to maximize the effects of this tape. The tape can be used to facilitate and inhibit muscle function, mechanically correct joint and soft tissue issues, functionally correct impaired movement patterns, and is great for lymph/circulation issues.

The problem nowadays is that every runner/triathlete/athlete want to go out and buy this tape, or Rocktape, and slap it on. Mind you, if it's applied incorrectly, you risk significant damage to your body. For example, if you wish to facilitate a muscle and you end up inhibiting it, you can do yourself a lot of harm, especially over the course of a sporting event.

It's best to see a CKTP before you play around with this stuff. Unless you know your anatomy and kinesiology at a very high level, this tape should not be used. Sure, people don't want to see a professional as it means taking time, a co-pay, etc...but, being you can alter the function of your musculoskeletal system, it's probably worth it to know the correct application of the tape for your issue(s) before you do something that could potentially create harm.

Just my two cents.
